Mainifold Absolute Pressure(MAP/TMAP) Sensor

General Description

Intake maniflod pressure is directly related to engin load. The ECM needs to know intake manifold pressure to calculate how much fuel to inject, when to ignite the cylinder, and other function. The MAP/TMAP sensor is either located directly on the intake manifold or mounted in the engine compartment, and the MAP/TMAP sensor is connected to the intake manifold with a vacuum hose. The temperature sensor element is a NTC-resistor.
