On November 22, 2016, Professor Liu Sheng, the chief scientist of Wuhan FineMEMS Co., Inc. and well-known sensor expert, was invited to SAIC Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. to give a lecture on the status quo and future development trend of smart sensor technology at home and abroad for several world-class automotive companies. The lecture was highly valued and warmly welcomed by the management of SAIC Volkswagen Training Department and related engineers.

In this lecture, Professor Liu, firstly introduced the application market and strategic significance of smart sensors. He said that smart sensors have been widely used in mobile terminals and consumer, industrial, agricultural, medical, aerospace, and automotive electronics. The smart sensor and system industry has become an important support for global technological innovation and economic development. Only by combining fundamental research and industrial development, theory and practice can the sensor industry form its unique characteristics, achieve sustainable development, and take the lead.

Secondly, he also introduced the design and development process of the smart sensor industry, and gave an explanation of the simulation technology, packaging integration technology, mass production and testing technology one by one, and emphasized the importance of DFX (the designs across the product life cycle) in product design and development.
